Carry-On Size Guide 2026: Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT, easyJet and Which Leather Bags Fit
On low-cost flights the cabin bag rules are strict: bags are checked in a sizer at the gate, and every extra centimetre costs money. We collected the current sizes and matched them with our bags and backpacks.

Sizes as of October 2026. Rules and fares change, so check your ticket on the airline's website before you fly. Handles, feet and outer pockets count towards the size.
Why a leather bag plays by its own rules
- Leather doesn't squash. A nylon bag can be squeezed into the sizer, a leather one with a firm base can't. Go by the outer dimensions and leave some margin.
- It's heavier. A leather bag weighs more on its own than a fabric one. Our large Bison, for example, weighs 2.5 kg (4.4 lb). With an 8-10 kg limit, that matters.
- But it keeps its shape. Your clothes don't get crushed, the firm base with metal feet doesn't mind the airport floor, and the bag still looks good after dozens of trips.

For Ryanair's 20 cm depth, pick California, Buffett, Cruise or BackBag. Travel and Cambridge are 22-24 cm deep, so they're better for Wizz Air, LOT, easyJet or US flights.
Choosing for your trip
- Low-cost, no extras, 1-2 days. California backpack: a laptop up to 15.6″, a change of clothes and papers, with your passport in the front flap pocket.
- Business trip with a laptop. We designed the Cruise specifically for US and European cabin rules: a 15.6 or 16″ laptop compartment, three inner pockets, a firm base with feet and a trolley strap for your suitcase handle. A more compact option is the Buffett weekender: a 15.6″ laptop pocket, front pockets with mini locks and the same trolley strap.
- A weekend away or the gym after a trip. Travel or Cambridge: one large zip compartment and an inner pocket for tickets and your phone. Cambridge also has a trolley strap and reinforced corners.
- A holiday with a suitcase, or a road trip. The 43-litre Bison: four pockets, metal feet and a full leather shoulder strap.
Packing for a smooth security check
- Put your laptop in its own compartment or on top: you'll often be asked to take it out.
- Power banks and spare batteries go in your cabin bag only, never in checked luggage.
- Liquids up to 100 ml in a clear bag, unless the airport says otherwise.
- Keep your passport and boarding pass in an outer pocket so you don't have to open the bag at the gate.
Made to fit your airline
Every bag is made to order in 3-5 business days. If you usually fly the same airline, we can adjust the size to its sizer, choose a combination of leather colours or add laser engraving. Shipping takes 10-15 days to most countries. Personalised items can only be returned if they are defective, see returns and exchanges.
